Colonial Council Champs!

The AHN ladies defended their longstanding reign atop the Council by putting together a scrappy, "all hands on deck" performance Saturday at UAlbany. Depleted by graduation and injuries to upperclassmen, the squad fought for every possible point to secure the victory.

Aiyana McIntyre (Fr)- third in 55m and 5th in long jump; Kaitlin Close (Jr)- 1st in 300m and 2nd in 1000m; Hannah Loder (Fr)- 3rd in 600m; Kerry Lostert (Sr)- 5th in 600m;  Arissa Spitalny 4th in 1000m and 4th in 1500m; Chamberlain Harris(Fr) 4th in 3000m; Alyson Insero(Sr)- 1st in high jump, 2nd in triple jump, and 3rd in long jump; Mai-Linh Le 3rd in shot put. The team also scored points in the 4x400 and 4x800m relays.

AHN Picking up the Pace!

The AHN indoor track squad put the pedal to the metal over the weekend, picking up a string of wins locally and away. Senior Leah Triller led the charge with a win in the 1,000m at the Dartmouth Invy (2:57, US#4), followed up by another 1000m win at the UAlbany league meet on Sunday. Kaitlin Close took 3rd on the 600m at Dartmouth (1:39), and first Sunday in the 300m (43.4).

Newcomers Hannah Loder (frosh) and Kerry Losert(sr) placed 10th and 12th in the 400m (1:04) in NH, then finished 1-2 in the 600m at UAlbany (1:51, 1:52), and frosh Aiyana McIntyre won the 55m at Albany in 7.8 sec and  took second in the long jump.

And They're Off!

The AHN Indoor Track season started this month, with local dual meets and early invitationals getting the ladies tuned up for what is sure to be an exciting season.

The team had a strong showing at the Rhode Island Classic yesterday, with several top 10 finishes and some strong performances by a cadre of young additions to the squad. Leah Triller placed first in the 800m with a meet record 2:15:23, and Kaitlin Close placed 4th (2:21:35). Junior Kaylee Scott placed 7th in the mile (5:32:46). The DMR team took 10th, and SMR took 14th).
