Scott Impresses at States

Kaylee Scott battled through the top Class B runners in the state to take 5th at the New York Cross Country Championships in Queensbury Saturday. The tough junior shaved nearly a full minute off her time from the previous week (Sectionals) to leave behind all other challengers from Section II. Her time placed her in the top 20 runners across all classes.

Williams, Scott Qualify for State Championships

Lydia Williams and Kaylee Scott qualified for the New York State Championships by placing 2nd and 3rd at Sectionals last week. They will line up with the best in the state this Saturday in Queensbury.

Colonial Council Champs!

The 2013 Colonial Council Championship was held on Friday in Queensbury and the Academy of the Holy Names dominated the competition. Kaylee Scott (1st), Lydia Williams, Leah Triller, Meredith Franchini, Arissa Spitalny and Kaitlin Close placed in the top 10, with the first four of them in the top 5. The JV girls did just as well, with Chamberlain Harris, Rachael Franchini, Isabelle Lombardi, and Julia Smith placing in the top six of their competition.

AHN Edged at Albany County

Holy Names fought hard, but came up just short at the Albany County Championships this past Friday. AHN placed three in the top six, but tied on points with a strong Guilderland squad. Holy names fell short on the tie-breaker, when the 6th place runners were scored. Kaylee Scott battled for second just behind Champion Marianna Lansing (Shaker). Lydia Williams placed 4th, being edged at the line by Guilderland's lead runner, Emily Burns. Colonial Council Championships are next Friday.

AHN 19th at Manhattan Invy

The Holy Names XC squad placed 19th at the prestigious Eastern States Championships Saturday, as the team struggles to regain its swagger after winning the New York State Championship last fall. Top finishers for the day included Leah Triller, Lydia Williams, Kaylee Scott, Meredith Franchini, and Kaitlin Close. The team will face off against local rivals next Friday at the Albany County Meet, and hopes to build through the upcoming council and sectional championships.

AHN Makes Splash at Shaker Invy

In early season action the AHN ladies placed 3 runners in the top 10 to take 3rd place on a rain soaked course at the Shaker Invitational Friday. Eighth grader Lydia Williams (4th), Leah Triller (5th) and Kaylee Scott (10th) led the team on unsure footing through the slop, with Olivia Marrow and Merideth Franchini scoring 4th and 5th for the squad. With 71 total points, the AHN team was edged out by winner Champlain Valley (VT; 56 points) and Queensbury (71).

Strong Start to 2013- Meet Record Falls!

The AHN women started off the 2013 Cross Country season with a bang, breaking their own meet record from last year at the Niskayuna Ediken this Saturday. Lydia Williams, newcomer Olivia Morrow, and Leah Triller combined for a time of 28:16.6, beating the previous record by over 30 seconds.
